Slide Closes Skyline Boulevard

A landslide will keep Skyline Boulevard closed for several days. The City says the slide is the worst they've dealt with this winter.

Here are the details from the Portland Bureau of Transportation:

The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that SW Skyline Blvd will remain closed for several days after a landslide reported overnight Sunday night led the road to be closed to through traffic. No through traffic is allowed on SW Skyline between West Burnside and U.S. 26.

The traveling public should plan to use alternate routes for several days. Crews are clearing more than 200 cubic yards of debris, requiring dozens of dump truck loads, and Portland Parks & Recreation crews are clearing large trees from the area.

We will provide updates as information becomes available. Daylight conditions are needed to make a full assessment of the situation.

Local access only is permitted northbound at SW Highland Parkway and southbound at SW Fairview Blvd.

Transportation crews are inspecting the site and barricading it to keep the public a safe distance away. Avoid the area. Use alternate routes. Obey street closed and other signage.
