Expert Suggests Ohio Family Murder Could Have Been 'Professional Hit'

Police have not made any arrests following a gruesome family murder in Ohio in 2016, but an expert who reviewed recently released evidence claims that the killing had "aspects of a professional hit."

Dr. Jennifer Murray studied the recently released autopsy reports and told WLWT-TV that she does not believe it was "a cartel hit or anything like that." Murray said the level of aggression at the scene was not something that cartel hits are known for. The victims were shot multiple times, even after they were dead.

"When you get that after they're dead, that's showing even more aggression," Murray said.

Dr. Murray pointed out that whoever committed the massacre was capable of covering their tracks and evade arrest for over two years. She suggested that whoever wanted the family killed could have hired somebody to help commit the murders.

"It's two years later and they haven't indicted anybody. So they did a pretty good job and I don't think the average family typically knows how to do that. So there's a potential they may have hired someone," Murray said.

Authorities were investigating another family in the area, but have not named any suspects. They are also investigating whether illegal drugs were involved because one of the victims was involved in a major marijuana growing operation.
