Around a thousand people were at the Park Avenue MAX station in Milwaukie on Sunday to see TriMet's new Type 6 MAX train cars.
They'll replace the Type 1 cars that have been in service since 1986.
The new cars can have operators at both ends, digital signs show the next stop, and new green, yellow and red lights indicate which doors are opening.
There's also improved temperature controls to keep trains warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
30 new trains will be added. They're currently being tested and will start going into service by the end of the year.
