Driver Nearly Hits State Trooper

Sunday morning, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a welfare check at NW Cedar Canyon Road and NW Killin Road near the town of Banks. A passing driver told dispatch the driver of a blue 1991 Geo Prism was slumped over behind the wheel near that intersection.

An Oregon State Police trooper found the car a short time later near the Banks City Hall on NW Main St. The trooper was trying to get the woman out of the driver’s seat when she put the car in reverse. The trooper was not hit by the car and was not run over, but he was thrown to the ground as she drove backwards. He was not injured.

The woman, later identified as 25-year-old Aubri Jenkins of Timber, hit the trooper’s front bumper causing minor damage and hit a parked truck before fleeing in her car at speeds of about 80 miles per hour.

The trooper pursued Jenkins north on Highway 47 and then west on Highway 26 before he terminated the pursuit due to her unsafe driving.

Multiple other drivers called dispatch to report seeing Jenkins driving erratically on Highway 26. Deputies later found the car near the 58000 block of Highway 26. They searched the area, but were not able to find Jenkins.

Jenkins is currently wanted in connection with this incident and for an unrelated felony warrant for a probation violation. If you have any information about this event or her location, please call non-emergency dispatch at 503-629-0111.
