The Washington County Sheriff's Office was trying to find 32-year-old Nicole Murphy and her two-year-old son Caiden.
Nicole Murphy was at a rehab center in North Plains, but left with her son to get him medical care at an urgent care facility. She didn't return.
Police followed up on a lead that they were seen near a Plaid Pantry at Southeast 122nd and Market Street in Portland.
They found Caiden had been left with a family member, but Nicole ran when police arrived.
