----- The Blazers lost their third-straight game as the Minnesota Timberwolves improved their record to 23-6 against Western Conference opponents with a 120-103 win Sunday night at Target Center.

You can't win a game in one quarter, but you can certainly lose it. After taking a 33-31 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Blazers were outscored 26-10 in the second quarter on just 2-for-15 shooting with seven turnovers. Minnesota led 57-43 at halftime and never looked back. The Blazers never threatened again as the Wolves won their fifth-straight game by hammering the Blazers on Sunday night.

All five starters for Minnesota scored in double-figures led by Jimmy Butler's 24 points. Jeff Teague recorded 22 points and eight assists and Karl-Anthony Towns dropped 20 points and 11 rebounds. The Timberwolves shot 53.8% from the floor and outscored the Blazers 50-38 in the paint.

Minnesota (29-16) improved to 23-6 against the Western Conference on the season. The win was their fifth-straight overall and second on the season against the Blazers.

Portland (22-21) got 21 points from Damian Lillard and both CJ McCollum and Pat Connaughton each scored 18 points in the loss. The Blazers committed 18 turnovers on the night which led to 23 points for the Timberwolves.

Next up- The Trail Blazers return to Portland to host the Phoenix Suns Tuesday night at Moda Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.

Chad's take- Blazers were a buzzkill after watching the Saints and Vikings.
