(NEWSER) – A Connecticut man is facing charges over his carving of a watermelon—although police say it was his menacing intent that actually got him in trouble, reports theRepublican American of Waterbury. Police say that Carmine Cervellino, 49, was angry at his soon-to-be-divorced wife because she told police he was using illegal drugs. As revenge, he reportedly left a watermelon on a butcher block in the kitchen with a large knife through it, reports the Register Citizen. After his wife entered the kitchen and saw it, he immediately followed and began to slice it, silently, she says. Police charged him with second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct, though he faces no drug charges.
