It was chilly at six o'clock Monday morning, so the gravel between the WES Commuter tracks at the rail facility in Wilsonville were probably warm and comfortable for a fawn that laid down to take a nap.

But being on train tracks can be hazardous to a fawn's health.  so, maintenance technician Ed Whitaker moved in, wrapped the sleeping deer in a blanket and carried it off the tracks.  That's when the Bambi woke up, jumped from its rescuers arms and scampered through a fence and trotted to meet mom in a nearby field.
