When a Portland Police officer was wounded in a shooting Wednesday morning in southwest Portland, his K9 partner may have also been shot. The dog went missing after the shooting and police are asking for residents to call if they see the dog. It's a German Shepherd and would be wearing a black Police K9 vest.

Search dogs were being used to help track the K9.

The shooting happened during a traffic stop at 2:50 a.m. near SW Capitol Highway and Lobelia Street.

The suspect ran and was found after a search of nearly three hours. The suspect had escaped the initial search area and was found when residents called 911 with tips.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and is hospitalized at OHSU.

The officer has a non-lifethreatening injury and is hospitalized at Legacy Emanuel Hospital.
