The Portland Police Bureau, in partnership with Clear Channel Outdoor, has introduced a series of billboards around the community highlighting the police officers keeping the community safe. Clear Channel approached the Police Bureau about donating the space; the Police Bureau pays a nominal fee for the production materials.
The billboards are titled, "Your City. Your Police," and will be ongoing as space allows. The first nine billboards feature North Precinct Officer Madison Ceaser, and Youth Services Officers Trevor Tyler and Jessica Brainard. The billboards show a photo of the officers in their private life and then a photo of them in uniform. These officers volunteered to be featured on billboards and to provide a photo of themselves as youth.
"We are grateful to Clear Channel Outdoor for allowing us to use this space to highlight officers working in our community," said Chief Michael Reese. "These billboards provide us with the opportunity to put a face on Portland Police Officers and illustrate they are part of the community. These initial billboards feature three officers who grew up in the Portland area, but we hope to showcase many more officers who have joined the Police Bureau to protect and serve this community."
The first billboards are scheduled to be at the following locations:
Southeast Foster Road and 86th Avenue
Southeast Powell Blvd and 35th Place
North Lombard Street and Fenwick Avenue
Southeast Sandy Boulevard and Pine Street
Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Ainsworth Street
Northeast 82nd Avenue and Milton Street
Southeast 82nd Avenue and Ash Street
West Burnside Street and 16th Avenue
North Denver Avenue, North of the Columbia Slough
