The Patriots Jet Team bring a unique performance to the Oregon International Airshow. The pilots are volunteers and the aircraft are L39 Albatross light fighter jets. They were purchased from Czechoslovakia before the country was disolved.
Pilot Rob "Scratch" Mitchell says they're more quiet than the military jets you hear from the Blue Angels, Thunderbirds or Snowbirds.
He says their show has more energy, because there's always a jet on the stage. "It's 30 minutes of high energy," says Mitchell.
The Patriots are the headliners, but other acts include Lt. Colonel John Klatt's aerobatic performers, the Red Bull Air Force, and many others.
