At 8:33 p.m. Sunday night, an earthquake hit the Portland area. It was centered under King City and had a magnitude of 3.3. More than 1,200 people reported feeling it. Some of the reports were as far away as Salem.
Ian Madin, with the Oregon Department of Geology, says it's likely there will be aftershocks, but they probably won't be strong enough to be felt.
There were no reports of damage. Madin says our area gets this type of an earthquake about every two years.
