Matt Boyd was stellar, allowing four hits with 11 strikeouts in a complete-game shutout of Indiana Wednesday night in a 1-0 victory. Oregon State's lone run came in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Jake Rodriguez. Boyd improved to 11-4 this season.

Elimination Games
With the 1-0 win on Wednesday, the Beavers improved to 16-5 all-time under head coach Pat Casey in elimination games. The Beavers are 8-1 under Casey in such games in Omaha, winning their last eight. Oregon State will be visitors Friday and have won four of those eight games at the CWS as the visiting team.

Boyd's Masterful Night
No Oregon State play was born the last time a 1-0 game occurred at the College World Series, which was in 1985. The last nine-inning 1-0 game was in 1977 as the `85 game went 14 innings. There have now been just 18 1-0 games all-time at the College World Series.

Baseball Gods Liked Him Wednesday
When you're swinging a hot bat, the Baseball Gods are with you. Michael Conforto's seventh hit of the series was a bloop down the left field line Wednesday. He is 7-for-12 (.583) during the College World Series, with four doubles, giving him a slugging percentage of .917. He is 13-for-38 (.342) during the postseason.

Caught Stealings Adds Up
Oregon State has held opponents to just three stolen bases in nine attempts in the postseason after Indiana went 0-for-2 on Wednesday. Teams are just 23-for-55 (41.8 percent) on the year with Jake Rodriguez tossing out 22 of the 36 (61.1 percent) against him.

• OSU is 12-3 on Fridays this season, including holding a 5-2 mark away from home.
• The Beavers improved to 28-0 this season when holding teams to two runs or less. OSU, meanwhile, is now 4-6 when scoring two runs or less.
• Matt Boyd's 1-0 win was his second of the season after the Beavers also defeated Utah 1-0 on April 12.
• The Beavers are tied with Rice for first in the nation with 12 shutouts.
• The complete-game effort by Boyd was the Beavers' ninth in the postseason since 1983 and second of 2013. The `13 Beavers join the `86 team with two.
